LICHEN AND MOSS

Lichen is a union of two separate species whose color, size and form depend on the unique relationship; each slow to grow, exquisite in shape and highly sensitive to what we do to its surroundings.

Ball moss is an air plant native to south Texas and Mexico, slowing migrating with the warm air north.  Their success in thriving where nothing else will grow — in the warm, humid undersides of our great oaks and on trees planted in concrete esplanades — threatens our notions of natural beauty.
